The Opening of 1984 for Key Stage 3
Two lessons on the first two paragraphs of 1984 by George Orwell.
The first lesson is about comprehension of the opening extract (which is included in the resource).
The second lesson is on analysing the features of a dystopian society present in the extract.
This resource is in a six-page booklet which is ideal to print for or send to students who are working remotely.
AQA Literature Paper 1: Essay on Scrooge
This is a lesson on how to answer AQA Literature Paper 1 Section B (A Christmas Carol).
It is aimed at lower-attaining students and contains the Assessment Objectives written in a more accessible way.
It also includes sentence starters to help students write a paragraph.
The question is ‘Starting with this extract, how does Dickens present Scrooge as an outsider to society?’ This question was taken from the AQA Specimen paper from 2014.
